Whitmer Signs Michigan Carbon Neutrality Orders, Mandates State Facilities be Net Zero by 2025

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has signed two executive orders requiring the state to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 28% over 1990 levels by 2025 and become carbon neutral by 2050. If Whitmer does not win reelection in 2022 a future governor could rescind the orders.
